![]()
![]() The Decepticon psychiatrist and hypnotist. The other Decepticons often come to him to help relieve them of the tolls that war has taken on them. He can often be found locked away in his room while perched atop his desk and simply reading data pads to his energon pump's content. He tends to see the universe with an open mind and will except the possibilities of anything. Which gives him an air of innocence floating around him because he seems to be able to find fascination in the simplest item. However, his favorite items of study often lean towards the ways of the supernatural and the subconscious mind, which is why he has a strange fascination with Vitani. He is also a polite and kindhearted soul although many of his fellow 'Cons consider him "weird".
Character featured in: On the Flip Side
![]() Motormaster was chosen to lead the Stunticons for good reason. Despite what his imposing size and loud voice might make you think, he is in reality a really nice guy. He is well liked by his fellow Stunticons and the Decepticons in general both for his personality and his skillful leadership of this gestalt team. Knowing his vehicle mode is both large and powerful, he takes great care while using it not to injure other vehicles (except for the Autobots) or any Earth creatures, particularly humans, who might be nearby. Optimus Prime hates Motormaster with a vengeance, irked that a mere Decepticon has a vehicle mode that so closely resembles his own. He has vowed to personally drive the Stunticon leader from the roads, and knowing Prime, from this plane of existence as well, permanently.
![]() Nightbird joined the Decepticons after being rescued from the lab of her creator, Dr. Fujiyama, who'd planned to create an army of ninja warriors to aid the Autobots in their conquest of Earth. Now a staunch supporter of Megatron's cause, she uses her formidable combat skills only when one of her beloved Decepticons is directly threatened. She's a good friend to all, and is known as a good listener. Though she can be quite chatty in private, she refuses to speak in front of anyone who's not a Decepticon.
![]() In many ways, Octane is still a youth, forced into a position of responisibilty. Amiable and genuinely concerned for his fellow Decepticons, Octane believes a spiritual leader should live his/her life among the people, not isolated in a temple. Of course, he is equally quick to point out that there are few temples left anymore. Octane believes it is his duty to offer a cheerful face, even in the face of imprisonment. He adamantly refuses to let the bleakness of their situation bring him down. While he longs for the day when he can walk freely on Cybertron again, Octane also believes that such a day will be a long time coming, if ever.
Character featured in: Invocation of Izual
![]() The courageous and strategic leader of the rough-edged, hardened demolition squad known as the Combaticons. He was a famous war hero from a war in Cybertron's past and takes pride and honor in his duty, though he longs for the day when there will be peace and he will be able to rest his battle-weary core processor. Until then, he lives with the conflicts of keeping his team together and helping his daughter Vitani control her hateful urges, though he does spend a good deal of his time matching wits and trading insults with Hook even though they are actually good friends. He also goes a long way back with Megatron; the two of them are said to have fought together, which is why they are such good friends.
Character featured in: On the Flip Side
![]() (created by Paradox) Before the beginning of the war, Paradox was actually part of Alpha Search and Rescue, a Neutral group of search and rescue medics and trackers working out of Tarn. Currently, she is the smart-allecky, ever joking field medic of the Decepticon ranks. Paradox was built as an Autobot triple-changer, and lived on the edges of the factions society. She associated openly with both Autobots and Decepticons prior to the war's beginning, gaining her friends, and also enemies on both sides. Her fellow Autobots put up with this during the Golden Age of Decepticon rule, feeling that when the time was right she could use her trust with the Decepticons for the benefit of the empire. What they didn't expect was for her to defect from the Autobots all together. Though a medic by nature, Paradox prides herself in her expertise with a shrapnel cannon and her quick maneuverability in her motorcycle and VTOL jet modes. In general, Paradox means well, but she attracts a substantial amount of distrust and suspicion, merely from the fact that she is Autobot built. It doesn't help much that she has the darker side to prove her origins...and those who see it rarely want to talk about it.
![]() A force of nature in every sense, he crashes against his enemies like a tsunami and leaves nothing but devastation in his wake. Predaking loves Earth, and would risk all he has to protect what remains of it from the Autobots. Despite being a conglomerate of the various personalities of the five Predacons, he shows surprising clarity of thought in battle. His power and ferocity are such that only two Autobots have ever survived to tell of his existence, and nobody believes them.
Character featured in: Reflections of a King
![]() With no knowledge of has past, Scamp was just an empty like any other, except that his body was full of state of the art Decepticon technology. He had no idea how it got there, and neither did Spanner (nor did he care) when he copied much of the technology for use in the Predobots and turned Scamp into Rampage. Rampage is generally child-like and playful, but occasionally displays flashes of his previous life and personality and of a darker, feral side to his nature.
Character featured in: Reflections of a King
![]() Once an independent energon warehouse owner, Ratbat was renowned for his efficiency and compassion. When the war started, he joined the Decepticon ranks, and his knack for organization became an asset to the Decepticon cause wherever he was assigned. A battle relatively early in the war resulted in a small group of 'Cons being isolated and surrounded for several days and in a major injury to Ratbat. The only way he could be saved was by Soundwave re-working him into a cassette so that Soundwave's own repair systems could save his life. From that time on, Ratbat had to accompany Soundwave wherever he goes, as he is more physically dependent on Soundwave than the other cassettes, even though the others, as Soundwave's creations, are more emotionally attatched to Soundwave.
Character featured in Abyss of Azure Flame
![]() This sleek hunter embodies the noble virtues of the large beast of prey. Courageous and intelligent, with a deep, pleasant speaking voice, he slips through nearly any Autobot defense perimeter with ease. He gets along very well with his brothers, and is moderately amused at his brother Rumble 's crush on Spiral. He is the perfect Decepticon to keep tabs on the various human resistance cells, and has yet to lead any Autobot hunters to his human allies. Frenzy often accompanies him on these missions as a more human figure for the humans to relate to. He is the eldest of Soundwave’s creations, and the only one to remember Cybertron before the start of the Third War. Beneath his outer display of decorum and dignity lurks truly mischievous tendencies, which he uses deliberately to improve morale among the Cassettes and the Decepticons as a whole. He also shares an empathic and telepathic bond with his kin, and has a sensitive and accurate empathic ability with other sentients.
Character featured in: His Master's Voice, Inheritors of Twilight, That Good Night.
![]() The Decepticon Novaculon worked at the docks alongside Orion Pax. He spent most of his working life lost in philosophical thought, even passing up offers of promotion because “it would leave him less time to think”. Having spent most of the latest war in one prison camp or another, he had even more thinking time on his hands. Eventually he decided that neither side was truly ‘right’ and took off his badge, only to be captured again for vagrancy and turned into Razorclaw. Once again a firm Decepticon supporter, Razorclaw has no sympathy for those who genuinely agree with Autobot philosophies and has dedicated himself to the cause of becoming a better warrior in order to stop them.
Character featured in: Reflections of a King
![]() Reflector is actually three mechs in one: Spyglass, Spectro, and Viewfinder. Spyglass is the most intelligent of the three, a thoughtful, quiet, serious personality. His strength, and weakness, is in specificity--he sees everything in incredible detail. Viewfinder is the opposite in many ways: rambunctious, fun loving, and sometimes overly loud. His strength, and weakness, is also the opposite of Spyglass': he is the generalizer, the one who sees the big picture. Where Spyglass can't see the forest for the trees, Viewfinder can't see the trees for the forest. Spectro is the enigma of the three...deep, hard to know, but humorous and friendly. He is the one with the power to create blinding displays of light. However, while they are all three distinct persons in their own right, they share a mental bond so strong that they often blend into each other and they feel each other's pains and pleasures. All three speak in the royal we. Their bond serves to balance them, so that Reflector together is more than the sum of his parts, with Spectro serving as the bridge to join Spyglass and Viewfinder's disparate visions together.
![]() Rumble tends to prefer the background of any given situation, with one exception: he is the most active and talented musical composer among the Cassettes, and he does enjoy being part of performances that highlight his works. Having this talent for creation of art is one that he shares with Soundwave, who has always encouraged Rumble’s further development. While all the Cassettes are curious and appreciative of the native music of the worlds they encounter, it is Rumble who can be counted upon to learn the body of native musical knowledge in highest detail. Otherwise, he tends to try to occupy his time usefully, which can range from helping out in medbay to assisting other Decepticons with their personal projects. He has a deft hand with fine detail work. On the battlefield, he displays a fiercely protective streak, and has far more power in his punch than his small size would indicate. Far from having a high-strung temperment, Rumble is content with a less refined speech pattern than some of the other Cassettes, and isn't averse to playing the odd trick on Ravage in repayment for the panther's not-infrequent practical jokes. After the re-founding of the Peace Academy and Spiral's arrival on Earth, he developed an adorable crush on the Femme, but thus far has been too shy to make his emotions known. He shares an empathic and telepathic bond with his kin, and has a mild to moderate empathic ability with other sentients.
Character featured in: His Master's Voice, Inheritors of Twilight, That Good Night.
![]() Ruckus is a brave, but careful warrior. His bullhorn voice can most often be heard warning someone else to watch themselves. Ruckus knows that resources are at a premium for the Decepticons, especially items such as energy and replacement parts. He therefore makes it his unofficial mission to make certain that as little energy and resources need to be spent on repairing himself and others as possible. He dislikes waste and can be quite gruff with anyone he sees misusing resources. Ruckus used to be considerably smaller, having been designed to perform only a non-combat messenger's role. But at the battle of Valvolux, Ruckus proved his true worth when, after having been caught by surprise behind enemy lines and smashed to pieces by an Autobot-launched proton missile, he was still able to warn an approaching squad of Decepticons of the impending Autobot ambush with the part of him that still functioned: his voice module. Megatron rewarded him by rebuilding him into the stronger, larger form that he still has to this day. Grateful for this new lease on life, Ruckus was determined not to waste it and has returned his leader’s faith in him with unflagging loyalty and unyielding effort.
![]() An ill-tempered, bossy Constructicon who hates waiting on others and lives by a strict schedule. He hates when things are cluttered or messy and would prefer to keep everything neat. Butts heads with Hook often because of this.
![]() One of the most mysterious characters you'd ever meet, and the object of many rumors. He almost never speaks; he's even gone days, even a week without saying one word. Rumor has that he can't speak at all, and that his voice processor was accidently removed during his upgrade. This of course, as been proven to be false. He also seems to have a sixth sense for danger. He seems to just know when trouble is coming his way, and easily side steps it. His ability to always land on his feet makes other Decepticons rather envious. It also gives rise to the rumor that he might be a psychic.
![]() Shrapnel is a fairly quiet and reserved Decepticon, partly because of a defect in his speach cuircuits that causes him to repeat the last word or two of whatever he says. This defect embarrasses him. In fact, Shrapnel is quite modest and easily embarrassed. Shrapnel would blush at any compliment, especially one from a femme, if Transformers were capable of such things. He enjoys Earth music, especially soft rock, and would much rather be listening to a romatic ballad than fighting.
![]() Shockwave took up the reigns as general of the Decepticon rebellion after Megatron disappeared. Armed with logic and infinite patience, he had hoped to quell the Imperial threat, or at least pacify the Empire's thirst for more territory. In the end, however, he was left with nothing, dragged to the Imperial prison camps in disgrace. Now, he faces the responsibilities of caring for his imprisoned people with a quiet dignity that even the Autobots cannot touch. Nor is Blurr particularly interested in doing so, though the reasons behind this remain a mystery to most Autobots.
Character featured in: Invocation of Izual
(created by Scopeshot) A deviation from standard psychotypes, Skystorm is a little bit weird, but that’s okay. His weirdness has helped save time and save lives in the past. The blue and gray Seeker suffers from a slight attention problem, i.e. he doesn’t pay attention too much. It falls on his commander Starscream to keep the other Seeker in line. Skystorm is a positive, rather upbeat individual, always ready to talk back in the most courteous and respectful manner possible to his superiors. In a direct contradiction to normal Seeker design (pyramid-shaped), Skystorm is built like a giant flattened arrow.
Character featured in: Angel with Broken Wings, Reversal of Fortune
![]() Skywarp is the relaxed goofball of the Decepticon Seeker elite. He gets along reasonably well with pretty much everyone, always there with a joke or a smile. He is especially close to Thundercracker, whom he considers his best friend. Beyond doing his best to help his friend Starscream with his duties, Skywarp is actually a practiced spy. After receiving the technology for teleportation, he trained with Soundwave in spycraft. But Skywarp's interests are less in the arts of war and more in the arts of life.
Character featured in: The Hunt, Reflections of a King
![]() Head of the Cybertron Peace Academy, the training ground for all Decepticon freedom fighters. He despises violence and would like nothing more than to live out his days as a peaceful academic, but has sacrificed his dreams to put an end to the tyranny of the Autobots. His relationship with Megatron is respectful, but somewhat cool and distant.
![]() A new recruit to the Decepticon cause, Spiral's a spy, educated and mentored by Soundwave himself. She was recently charged with the unenviable task of infiltrating the most evil place in the universe - Autobot City - and barely lived to tell the tale. She's a . . . friend . . . of Starscream's. . . . ;) And Rumble has an adorable crush on her.
Character featured in: Closer Than They Appear
(created by Starchaser) Note: This profile is valid only through the end of Invocation, Part 3. Her later profile can be read here Shy almost to a fault, the lithe Starchaser prefers to spend time in her lab, puttering on some project or other. Though friendly and warm once drawn out of her shell, she has few friends. Most see her as aloof and remote, someone who thinks she is better than anyone else. Onslaught was closer to the truth in comparing her to a gypsy. Starchaser is aware of a blank space in her memory. While it bothers her, she is too afraid of the reasons for her wiped memory to wish to persue it. As far as she is concerned, there are more important things to do than worry about memories she cannot retrieve It is rumored that, with the help of Irradia, she can fix anything.
Character featured in: Invocation of Izual
![]() The ever-snarky but ever-loyal and ever-goofy second-in-command of the Decepticons. He's well-loved and trusted by all . . . and he loves to call Megatron "Mighty Megatron," just to razz him. When in the presence of other Decepticons, Starscream's known for being the outgoing "cheerleader" of the cause, the one who always sees the bright side of things and who always optimistically insists that the situation, whatever it is, will get better. He's also known for comforting others when they're down or when the weight of the Decepticons' against-the-odds undertaking threatens to break them. Privately, however, there's a part of Starscream that despairs of ever winning the fight and restoring peace and freedom to Cybertron. . . .
