Astrotrain

Astrotrain is a firm lover of nature, and in his spare moments can often be found gazing at the wonders of any world he might be stationed on. Before the Autobot Empire's new uprising, Astrotrain was renowned as a great novelist, and persists in keeping his writing skills sharp by rarely speaking in simple sentences, rather describing all he sees in vivid detail. As the primary source of the Decepticon's Cybertron/Earth transport, he is a most prominent figure to the Decepticons, and is affectionately known in many circles as "AstroTwain", after the great American author. Strives for piece, and is often a source of great encouragement to his comrades. Astrotrain has the heart of a warrior, but truly the soul of a poet.

Blitzwing

A living embodiment of the cliche strong, silent type. A philosopher by nature, Blitzwing can usually be found in deep meditation, ordinarily speaking only when spoken to. He takes considerable care of natural formations, be it a forest or a rock face. Once a horrendously agressive warrior, but calmed considerably when his brash actions resulted in the death of a superior officer.

Though he remains deep in thought throughout most of his time, he takes assaults on his allies as seriously as he does his own person, proof that a fragment of his former self remains. Can often be found in his own personal greenhouse, as he finds the colors soothing.

Blast Off

If there is ever such a thing as two of a kind, you can find them in the Combaticons. Blast Off is forever on the receiving end of Vortex's playful ribbing, and he takes it in stride with the good humor of a long time friend. Blast Off is always friendly if a little distant, but he proves that if you take enough time to get to know someone, you'll eventually find a friend in them.

Blast Off's accuracy is as unerring as ever, and his space transportation abilities make him invaluable to the Decepticons.

Bombshell

The Decepticons' resident (and occasionally rather klutzy) gadget genius.

Bonecrusher

The mild-mannered and prissy member of the Constructicons. He hates seeing things that look "icky" and has a great distaste for anything related to fighting. He often goes around tsking the others for being boisterous and pugnacious. This is mostly because he doesn't like to see people get hurt. He's a sensitive 'con, ya know!

Brawl

Truly a gentle soul if you ever saw one, Brawl is something of a softy among the Combaticons. Skilled in combat but not reveling in it, Brawl will fight if he is forced to.

As a general rule, he is passive and nonaggressive, but he has the occasional problem with being too loud in small bursts. Very often though, his burst of noise is simply his laughter ringing through the halls.

Brawl is very protective of his 'little sister' Vitani, making messing with Onslaught's daughter an even riskier proposition than usual.

Breakdown

Breakdown is fun loving and a bit of a show-off. He loves to be the center of attention. He'll even put up with the over-cheerful Dead End in order to have someone's attention focused on him. He is a movie buff (both Earthen and Cybertronian), and when and if the war ends, he hopes to pursue a carreer in acting. Like Hook, he also enjoys Earth television and the soap opera "As the Kitchen Sinks". "There's no accounting for taste," says many a fellow Decepticon as they observe Breakdown's enjoyment of the aforementioned show.

Buzzsaw

Buzzsaw is the most "childlike" of the cassettes, somehow maintaining a sense of wonder and innocence even through meganiums of war. Although he gets along very well with all his brothers and the other Decepticons, he is closest to his twin, Laserbeak. He is prone to distress when people he cares about have disagreements; his anxiety regarding the longstanding difference of opinion between Megatron and Soundwave is the best example of this. There is nothing he loves more than the view of a world from a great height, flying along the high thermals or the jet stream of a continent. He speaks in a whistling voice, and as with the other children of Soundwave, loves to sing, preferably in harmony with one or more of his brothers. He shares an empathic and telepathic bond with his kin, and has a touch-only empathic ability with other sentients.

Character featured in: His Master's Voice, Inheritors of Twilight, That Good Night.

Crankcase

Crankcase is a somewhat nervous, but pleasant mech, who only wants to help. He does anything and everything he can to make himself feel useful. In fact, if he wasn’t such a nice guy, his constant desire to be of help could quickly get annoying, especially since he‘s fairly inept at most tasks other than is primary function as a data collector. His manic need to be helpful stems from his youth, before he became a Decepticon. At the time, he was little more than a gangly collection of circuits and servo-motors, performing a menial janitorial function in the Ministry of Energy and Nutrition on Cybertron. A great many of his more robust fellow workers mocked his feeble physique and bullied him, leaving the quiet mech with very little sense of self worth. When word reached him that Megatron was looking for recruits to join him in his fight against the Autobots, Crankcase jumped at the chance to be useful in a cause that he believed in. Upon seeing Crankcase’s then frail form, Megatron ordered that he be rebuilt and given increased bulk and strength, a procedure to which the young mech readily agreed, and became the mech he is today.

Cyclonus

If there is only ONE transformer (and actually, he is the only one) Galvatron has EVER raised his voice at, it would be Cyclonus. Simply put, he's a thug. Cyc likes to do whatever he feels and rarely cares about who he cheeses off along the way. He doesn't mind getting into fights, and may even start some if he's bored. He's got a serious problem authority, and thus puts him in some serious odds with Galvatron (likes to call him "The Man"). However, he does have his soft spots; he cares deeply for those he considers his friends (sometimes referring to them as his "posse" or more often, "armada") and tries to help them out anyway he can. He also hates to see his allies-including Galvatron-get hurt and will seek revenge on those that hurt them.

Darklight

Created a twin, Darklight hailed from a Decepticon/Neutral colony several sectors from Cybertron. She studied to be a medic and scientist with the knowledge that someday, the Autobots could come and wreak havoc on her home. She did not believe that the destruction of her home would come from her own twin. When Windlight betrayed her colony and it was destroyed, Darklight set out to get revenge. Darklight traveled to Earth when she heard that the Autobots had awakened. She has decided that Earth will not suffer the fate of her home, and that her twin... would pay. Her normal companion is Melinda, an orphan human she has taken to raise.

For more information, contact Moonknight.

Deceptitran

A sophisticated artificial intelligence created just before Orion Pax became Optimus Prime, Deceptitran was originally designed as a hyper-adaptable space probe for exploration and exploitation of off-world energy sources. As the war with the Autobots began, the prototype was abandoned and went forgotten, up until the dusk of Decepticon supremacy. A desperate group of Decepticon scientists reprogrammed Deceptitran and expanded the A.I.s mission to seek out possible allies to fight against Autobot rule.

Dead End

The jovial, out-going, extremely friendly Stunticon. He takes pride in motivating everyone and believes that everyone should be happy and reflect on life. So much so that he was dubbed "Mr. Sunshine" by the other Decepticons for his overly upbeat personality. However, he has a tendency to neglect his personal well-being and often refuses to clean himself. Vitani is his best friend. Poor, poor Vitani...

Character featured in: On the Flip Side

Dirge

Dirge is a reassuring force amongst the Decepticons. When he senses one of his comrades is feeling depressed or stressed, he goes into action, getting to the root of the problem and subtly suggesting how his 'patients' can help themselves. Dirge is sneaky and underhanded, but at least it's for a good cause . . . he contributes far more than just his warrior skills to the Decepticons.

Divebomb

A manic, happy-go-lucky Decepticon who acts very much as the Predacons’ morale officer. He saw his upgrade by Spanner as a chance to make a real difference in the war, and his escape from Autobot captivity as inevitable. Although smart and tactically aware, he tries to give the impression of being a lunatic on the battlefield to undermine his opponents’ confidence in their efforts to destroy him.

Dragstrip

Dragstrip thrives on competition. Part of this probably comes from the fact that his alt mode is a formula-one racecar, built to compete. He's also the model of good sportsmanship. If he loses a race, game, etc. , he's usually the first to congratulate the winner. If he wins, he's of course happy about it, but he doesn't gloat. He'd never cheat to win, considering such behavior beneath a Decepticon. He's a big fan of Earthen sports, especially those involving contests of speed, such as auto-racing (natch) and has a growing collection of sports paraphernalia. He hopes that when and if the war ends that he will be able to attend some Earthen sporting events in person, instead of just watching old ones on tape.

Flame

Formerly a neutral scientist, Flame was called up by the Autobots to assist in their R & D department during a skills shortage on Cybertron around 600BC Earth time. He was found to be an excellent surgeon and designer, and proved his worth on an almost cycle-ly basis with new inventions and innovations. Unfortunately he was considered “too good to lose” and was not allowed to leave when he tried to resign over ‘ethical differences’ with Spanner. Eventually Flame made contact with the Decepticon resistance and escaped, and now works at a secret triage center deep below the ruins of Polyhex, repairing Decepticon soldiers and neutral civilians and developing new technology for the Decepticon cause.

Frenzy

This small cassette is a polite warrior, and has a youthful exberance and zest for life. Frenzy, along with Ravage, handles most of the Decepticon contacts with the native inhabitants of Earth. After a rocky beginning, he formed a special relationship with the human Carly. The majority of humans, however, distrust any robot and most human rebels will often deal with him only grudgingly. Among the Cassettes, he is closest to Ravage, and often, to his moderate dismay, gets swept along in Ravage’s tendency for elaborate practical jokes. He respects Megatron, and has mostly been able to come to terms with the distance between Soundwave and Megatron. He shares an empathic and telepathic bond with his kin, and has a mild to moderate empathic ability with other sentients.

Fusebox

Fusebox is one of those stereotypical old biddies who is constantly into everyone else's business, but does so with the best of intentions. If there is a granny among the Decepticons, it's her, and her well-meaning attempts to make sure everyone is fueled and in good repair occasionally earns her the affectionate (but exasperated) nickname of 'Fussbox'. She has been a technician since the middle of the Second Cybertronian war, and spent the bulk of the Golden Age in the co-ownership of what was essentially a 'tune-up shop' for minor repairs. Her hobby at one time was the creation of non-sentient 'pets', although she has not created any since the Third War began. She was one of the original crew that crashed with Astrotrain on Charr while attempting to escape Cybertron. Never much of a warrior, she declared herself "too darn old!" to go through Peace Academy classes once Soundwave arrived to rebuild it, and instead continued her support role in maintaining equipment, the health of her companions, and assisting Ratbat with the solar energon converters. Her altmode is a pale gold and lavender-accented Cybertronian version of an antique biplane.

Character featured in That Good Night

Galvatron

The upgraded form of Megatron. Though his dark armor and massive, spinuous appearance may intimidate some, don't be fooled...he's still the same nice guy underneath. He still cringes at the "mighty" title, and prefers to be just called "Galvs" (he also doesn't care that half his comrades still call him Megatron). However, he is scared to death of the vast power given to him by Unicron. He fears that he may one day accidentally damage or destroy one of his own allies. Thusly, he never walks around with his cannon, nor does he put himself in the front lines. If he's forced to fight, he tries to do it alone. His alt-mode is some sort of giant plasma cannon, but so far, no one's ever claimed to see him use it.

Headstrong

Once considered one of the top ten best 3D virtual artists on Cybertron, Headstrong never had the temprament to be a warrior. He hates himself and his new form for the horrors the Autobots forced him to inflict on others, and would very likely end his own life if not for the other Predacons constantly reminding him of his worth to the cause of peace.

Hook

The klutzy, careless surgeon of the Constructions. Chances are that if he gives you his opinion on something, it'll be wrong. He's often making mistakes but doesn't really seem to care that he does. Nor does he seem to care about how clean anything is, and he is prone to leaving his work scattered everywhere. That is, when he's actually doing work, of course. He would prefer just to spend his hours simply watching reruns of the earthen show "As the Kitchen Sinks". As a result of his laid back attitude toward his work, he often ends up getting an audial sensorful from Scavenger. He is also known to get into bickering matches with Onslaught.

Irradia
(created by Starchaser)
Note: This profile is valid up to the end of "Invocation of Izual"s Part 1. View her updated profile here

Originally trained as a spy, Irradia has since retrained as an engineer in her desire to leave the war far behind. When offered, she jumped at the chance to help build a new colony on the outer galactic rim. Her talents as an engineer have time and again proven invaluable, especially when teamed with her daughter, Starchaser.

Irradia was once the consort of Ultra Magnus, a position she used to gain knowledge for the Decepticon cause. The tactical information she gathered was secondary compared to the personal insight she gained into the inner workings of the Autobot Empire. However, her mission ended abruptly when her ulterior motives were discovered. She managed to escape, but a high price rests on her head.

Jackal

Jackal is a master Decepticon diversionary tactician, able to draw attention away from an assault by use of misdirection and distractions. He is the older brother of Hound, the infamous Autobot terrorist, and for the most part Jackal and Hound look almost identical, save Jackal's silver-trimmed black colors and lack of scars (and ability to talk).

Jackal tends to be good-natured, friendly, and a bit of a sarcastic wisecrack. He is saddened by his little brother's actions, but is not above firing on Autobots.

The problem is, one day, his hesitance to fire on Hound may cost him, and dearly...

Character featured in: Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?

Kickback

Kickback is a slightly clutzy, but good natured Decepticon. He's always eager to help out, and what he lacks in size and power, he more than makes up for in enthusiasm. Although he is somewhat socially inept, those who see past this find that Kickback is just about the best friend one could ask for: kind, caring, and loyal nearly to a fault. Kickback would never betray a friend, even if it meant his life.

In fact, Kickback's desire for friendship stems back to his early days on Cybertron, where he, like many others was a wandering neutral, an Empty as they're called. Alone and forgotten, he wandered Cybertron's ruined cities, until he was found by Bombshell and brought into the ranks of the Decepticons. Kickback is eternaly grateful to Bombshell for saving him and he remains one of Kickback's best friends. Kickback's greatest fear is rejection; he is terrified of the prospect of being alone agian.

Laserbeak

Twin to Buzzsaw, for maganiums he was content in the company of his father and siblings. During a scouting mission to another world that was being assaulted by Autobots, he fell in love with an organic sentient avian. She was subsequently slain by the 'Bots, and that world overrun. Since that time, he has carried that loss. He finds comfort in his family, but has become pessimistic and prone to brooding. He tends to be more irritable and more sharp-tongued than the other Cassettes. Laserbeak is an excellent scout, able to slip in and out of even the most secure Autobot installations undetected. He also occassionally serves as a contact for human resistance cells on Earth. While he does fight alongside Megatron willingly - and is the closet of all the Cassettes to the Decepticon leader - he privately wonders if Earth, like so many worlds overun by the Bots, is doomed to slavery. Created after the war began, he only understands the concept of peace in the memories that Soundwave has shared with all the Cassettes. He shares an empathic and telepathic bond with his kin, and has a touch-only empathic ability with other sentients.

Megatron

The leader of the Decepticons, a ragtag, rebel group of freedom fighters determined to overthrow the oppressive, tyrannical Autobots and return Cybertron to the peaceful Golden Age that the rise of the Autobot regime destroyed. And, man! Is he a nice guy! Watch out for his sense of humor, though. He likes to pretend he’s mean and nasty just to tease people. Plus he just likes to joke around alot. And he hates to be called "Mighty Megatron." But he's also just an likeable guy. He respects his fellow Decepticons and they look to him as a trustworthy friend and find him easy to be themselves around him. He and Onslaught are old war buddies and have known each other for a long time.

Character prominently featured in: Closer Than They Appear, On the Flip Side, "Rockem Sockem" in Dystopia

Menasor

Menasor shows every bit of the Stunticons’ youth. Childlike and inquisitive, he is easily distracted by new people or things. He has a special fondness for humans, and often tries to make friends with them. He doesn’t understand why they are often as afraid of him as they are of the Autobots. Outside of battle, Menasor is as harmless as a kitten, but when the fighting starts that kitten can quickly become a tiger. Any Autobot who attacks one of his fellow Decepticons, or, Primus forbid, a human, within range of Menasor’s sensors is sure to meet swift retribution from this gestalt warrior.
