![]()
![]() Skydive is completely contemptuous of Silverbolt, who he knows is not nearly as intelligent as himself. He allows the other Aerialbot to lead, for the present, because he is biding his time until his plans finally come to fruition. For now, he contents himself with continually advancing his knowledge of aerial warfare, and of the simple art of flying, which he enjoys more than any other activity. He knows himself to be the most skilled flier in all of Transformer history, and he permits himself some small bit of vanity, since after all, he is elite, even among the Pure Aerialbot Elite, the pinnacle of the purebreds. But he never allows himself to forget his true agenda, and sometimes, late at night when no one is around to see, he pulls his precious prize out of a hidden compartment, and smiles a dark, little smile, his face awash in its soft, golden light as he stares at it, mesmerized. . . .
![]() A one time Decepticon and friend of Starscream, Skyfire defected to the Autobots soon after his re-activation on Earth. He only stays with the Bots because he believes that they will ultimately be victorious. He just wants to be on the winning side. He still doesn't know that the Bot's were responsible for his original crash. While considered a bit overly violent by the Cons, he is fairly mild for an Autobot. He frowns on Autobots such as Cliffjumper and Warpath who enjoy random destruction for its own sake. He will fight fiercely in battle, but tries to avoid it at other times, thinking it a waste of resources and also thinking it's just plain stupid. When in combat, he tries to avoid engaging Starscream, whom (though he'd never admit it) he still considers a friend.
To this day, Starscream has not given up hope of bringing his friend back to the side of good.
![]() Slag is, put simply, a brawler. Despite having a standard electron blaster and an energo sword, he much prefers to dive into battle, fists flying. He is violent and impulsive, and is not above using a fellow Autobot as a punching bag. His fear (and respect) of Grimlock is often enough to curtail such urges to requesting a sparring match against anyone available (usually fellow team-members), but there are times when Slag loses control of himself, often with disastrous results, there not being many mechs able to withstand an assault by a Dinobot. In battle, of course, a berserk Slag is a useful Slag, explaining why there isn’t much interest in administrating a little “attitude adjustment”. Besides being a specialist in close-quarters combat, Slag also functions as the Dinobots’ primary communications officer, the horns on his dinosaur head amplifying the team’s radio-link to home-base. In dinosaur mode, he can also shoot a 3000°C flame up to 80 feet from his mouth.
Character featured in: Of Sparks and Shells...
![]() Being the smallest and slowest Aerialbot, Slingshot is terrified of his team mates’ disapproval. He would do anything to please them, and is often seen cringing and whimpering in the wake of one or more of his team mates, all but begging for some positive word. He even goes so far as to allow the other Aerialbots to take credit for his own accomplishments, all in his desperate attempts to make them like him. Of course, that means that Silverbolt doesn’t always realize when Slingshot has actually proven himself useful, and Slingshot knows that he is continually one step away from being excommunicated from the Pure Aerialbot Elite. He realizes that if he doesn’t prove himself as capable as his brethren, he may soon face banishment, but he can’t help hoping beyond hope that someday they might actually like him, and so he continues to grovel. . . .
![]() Sludge is the team’s “muscle”, could such a term be used for mechs larger than standard Transformers. He is possibly stronger even than Grimlock, but is not as proficient at utilizing his full potential as the Dinobot leader. Not too bright, and well aware of it, Sludge is content to being a subordinate, following orders without question. He is, however, very proud of being part of an elite team of robots, and is always looking for ways of improving himself, and endearing himself to his leader. He is armed with an electron blaster and an energo sword, though he prefers the former.
Character featured in: Of Sparks and Shells...
![]() A most deceptive individual indeed, Smokescreen is a master in psychological warfare. Though not truly a hypnotist or telepath, Smokescreen is still able to control a victim's actions with his words. Witty and intelligent, Smokescreen is a star Autobot interrogator. If victims do not go to Perceptor, they find their way to Smokescreen for non-lethal interrogation. In some ways, it's better to see Smokescreen. In others, it's worse . . . much worse. . . .
Character featured in: Angel with Broken Wings
![]() Snarl is a sadistic mech, revelling in inflicting pain. And indeed, pain is very much his specialty. He is often called upon to perform interrogations of prisoners, a duty he performs with much glee. He is most gifted at attaining the maximum cooperation from his victims in the least amount of time, not interested in the “how-long-will-they-last”, as in the “how-much-pain-can-be-inflicted-without-terminating-them”. Along with an energon cannon and energo sword, Snarl’s weapon of choice is an energy flail, which, like his dinosaur mode, increases in efficiency in sunlight.
Character featured in: Of Sparks and Shells...
![]() Essentially a schoolyard bully, Springer's main joy in life is beating up anyone smaller than himself. Has a special contempt for females, whom he considers weak and useless, though he's also convinced they find him irresistibly attractive. However, this brutal thug will quickly become a sniveling coward if faced with someone who can actually do him damage.
Character featured in: Closer Than They Appear, Circle of Cyberwolves
![]() A vicious yet astute opportunist, Streetwise is an expert infiltration and espionage agent. Virtually nothing escapes his notice and he can easily adapt himself to his environment. He prefers to keep to himself, though he has agreed to join the elite strike unit Mercury. Streetwise has sworn an oath of personal fealty to Ultra Magnus.
Character featured in: Invocation of Izual
![]() Before the war on Cybertron, Sunstreaker was the TF equivalent of a male supermodel, displaying the latest paint jobs to adoring mechs and femmes all over the planet. But, as the story goes with many models, his face was soon replaced by that of younger, fresher bots. He tried many times to get back into the spotlight, but failed and eventually dropped from sight. Rumor had it that after going in to have his body reconstructed as a last attempt to get his fame back, something went horribly wrong, resulting in his being permanently deformed. He is now a recluse, and he hates youth in any form, seeing it as what cost him his career. No one, not even his brother Sideswipe, knows what he truly looks like now for he stays in his quarters unless absolutely necessary, and when he does come out wears a hooded, black cape which completely obscures his form to any onlookers. This practice has earned him the name "The Black Sun".
Character featured in: Optic of the Beholder
![]() Quiet and thoughtful, Sureshot does not often speak to anybody. He prefers to watch others around him, looking for weaknesses. He puts up an image of the good soldier, always following orders to the letter, but purposefully not excelling at them so that he does not stand out. He prefers to play in the shadows. He has secretly created a vast web of informants which he uses to keep tabs of Autobots and Decepticons alike. Sureshot is highly secretive, but well trusted. That trust may be misplaced however. . . .
Character featured in: The Primrose Path, Wasteland
![]() Swoop is physically the weakest of the Dinobots, though is still stronger than most regular robots. However, he more than makes up for this in finesse and agility, and is indispensable as one of the few Autobot fliers. Not as fast as the Decepticon seekers, he is better armoured and more ruthless. He is also an excellent lookout, able to stand motionless for days on end, and able to spot movement upto 20 miles away, even when moving at his top speed of 250 mph. However, his different sphere of operations has made him a bit of a loner, even in his tightly-knit unit, and tends to keep to himself, only speaking when necessary. He is still very much a team-player, the extent of his "differences" with his fellow Dinobots restricted to using a thermal sword in lieu of the Dinobot-standard energo sword.
Character featured in: Of Sparks and Shells...
![]() Tailgate is, quite frankly, nuts. He believes that all machines, from cars to can openers, are both alive and sentient. He was enraged by the sights of machines under the control of organic beings that he saw on so many of the worlds that the Autobots conquered. In Tailgate’s warped mind, the very existence of organic life is insulting to machines everywhere, so seeing them ruling over machines was virtual blasphemy in his optics. He has vowed to exterminate such organic “vermin” wherever he finds them. He has labeled the Decepticons “traitors to machine-kind” for their protection of humans and other organic creatures and thus has no qualms about destroying them as well. Tailgate has a growing collection of machinery, gathered from numerous conquered worlds, including Earth. He has been know to make impassioned speeches to the assembled appliances, in hopes of convincing him to join him in the cause of ridding the universe of organic life. He has, thus far, had no success in this regard, but is convinced that the machines support his cause, at least in spirit. The Autobot High Command, as well as the Autobot population at large, knows of his... unusual... behavior, but since it suits their purpose, it is largely ignored, except as a source of amusement around the base.
![]() Probably the most vain creature in the universe. Really, peacocks have nothing on this guy. He probably spends more time polishing his armor than the rest of the Autobot army combined. He fancies himself as the most gorgeous being alive and intends to stay that way. Anyone who says otherwise or mars his beautiful body is assured of a sound thrashing, courtesy of Tracks. Also, he has long been known to . . . eliminate . . . anyone whom he believes is more gorgeous than himself. Very few (presently only Lord Prime and Lord Magnus) are safe from his vanity. On any planet he has assisted in the conquest of, he took great pleasure in defacing or destroying all the remaining monuments and great works of art of the local population. Nothing - and no one - must be more adored than he, after all.
Character featured in: Fairest of Them All
![]() Trailbreaker is cold and gruff to all but a handful of Autobots. He has few friends among the Autobots, with only Bumblebee and Windcharger even coming close to filling such a role. In fact, he often bullies Autobots that are weaker than he is. And like many bullies, he often quickly backs down when the situation changes and he faces a more resilient foe. Oddly, this cowardice does not translate to the battlefield, where he is an intelligent and formidable foe. As a defensive strategist, he is able to quickly assess weaknesses in the enemy’s fortifications and battle tactics and is often able to take full advantage of them.
![]() Left as Regent and Guardian when Optimus Prime left Cybertron to hunt down Megatron, Ultra Magnus has succeeded where Optimus long failed. Under his leadership, the Empire stamped out the last cells of the renegade Decepticons, solidifying the Autobot claim to the planet. A powerful warrior, only the Lord Prime can defeat Ultra Magnus in single combat. He too rules with an iron fist, but unlike the Prime, his troops are as likely to respect his strength and cool logic as to fear his rage. As a result of four million years of ruling the Empire, Ultra Magnus has lost his fear and respect of the Lord Prime as a ruler. He has every intention of replacing Optimus Prime as absolute ruler of the Empire, someday. Experience has taught him the value of patient plotting. In the meantime, an uneasy alliance binds the two warlords.
Character featured in: Invocation of Izual
(Created by Paradox) Truly a name to be feared by both Autobots and Decepticons, Valkyrie is more of a kamikaze than Kamikaze himself. She once worked as an assassin for hire, until her guild was destroyed for hiring one of their contract killers to the Decepticons. A rogue neutral with nowhere to go, she decided to join the Autobots, feeling that her skills would be more fitting of an Autobot than a Decepticon. Researching on Earth prior to her arrival, Valkyrie became fascinated with the Japanese kamikaze pilots of WWII, and insisted to Retrofit that he outfit her with a flier alt mode. It is suspected that somewhere during her refitting, Perceptor or Ratchet got ahold of her, and monkeyed around with her stabilizers. Now, like the Japanese pilots of the war, Valkyrie is subject to spontaneous dive bomb attacks, and a fatalist mindset, in addition to her already vicious and bloodthirsty tendancies. Because of Valkyrie's repeated successful missions, as well as some assassinations, for the empire and her incesant tendancy to cause massive amounts of damage to herself on a very regular basis, Prowl has arranged to make it crystal clear to Perceptor and Ratchet that no matter how many times Valkyrie goes into the med bay, she is not to be experimented on. This bargain, however, comes with a price.
(Created by Starchaser) Variance is the cool and precise lieutenant of Groove. Little rouses a reaction from this calm warrior, not even the threat of execution. While he has a natural gift for tactics, Variance prefers to do everything he can to keep from being noticed. His attempts have no impact on Groove, who has been his friend since the sweeping campaigns of Ultra Magnus. Variance is dissastisfied with his assignment with Lair security. It's one benefit in his optics, is the wider range of free time granted to him. He is currently engaged in a very complex and dangerous game with his bondmate, Neo.
Character featured in: Invocation of Izual
![]() This dark red Autobot goes out of his way for destruction. While Beachcomber philosophically destroys landscapes, Warpath targets human cities. Once the majority of human military resistance was broken after a few months of systematic elimination by the Autobots, Warpath took his hobby to an extreme by personally pounding the state capitol of each of the American States to the ground. Once that was done, he started ranging further afield and has been rumored to be headed toward Paris. He's fascinated by human blood, which is the same color as his body, and tends to kill humans in the messiest way available at the time. He has a deep basso voice, and his expletives of "BAM" "POW" and so forth tend to echo if he's near any kind of flat vertical surface.
Character featured in: Les Miserables
![]() The creator of the much-feared Dinobots, Wheeljack is, alas, completely and utterly insane for reasons that no one has quite figured out yet. Still, he manages to be a brilliant inventor of devastatingly effective weapons of mass destruction and various other gizmos. Even in the MirrorVerse, though, he is still his own worst enemy. He's always walking around singed and damaged because of an experiment that's gone explosively awry. Wheeljack, for some reason, has had an on-going feud running with Ratchet for years. . . .
Character featured in: Amorphous, Closer Than They Appear
![]() Wideload is the muscle man of the Throttlebots. He's a mech of few words and a quick temper especially if someone insults his strength or his team. Few are those who can match him in the brute strength department. He typically has a grungy appearance due to his role on the team, that of materials transport, but he doesn't seem to care. He takes each assignment as another chance to show off his strength and endurance. The tougher the job, the better he likes it. He is far from stupid, but thinks brains are a poor substitute for power.
Character featured in: Fairest of Them All
![]() Windcharger is the pride of the Autobot War Academy. Sadistic, cruel, and efficient, he relishes in raining down terror on Decepticons, and on Earth, has found a new love in using his many talents against human resistance cells. Or at least that is the facade that he has created around himself. He is a top-notch soldier, but his true love is science. He spends his time in recharging chambers analyzing data he collects as he conducts his missions. He finds such actions soothing after battle. But this is a love that he must hide from the other Autobots. He fears that if they discover this hidden secret, that an even deeper and more dangerous secret will be revealed. He does not believe in the violence that seems to have engulfed the Autobot cause. But he goes along with the actions of the other Autobots for fear that they would kill him or worse if they discovered the truth.
Character featured in: Every Secret
![]() Windlight enjoys dishing out pain. It doesn't matter what is on the receiving end of it. With her partner Inferno, she hunts down living things, humans or Decepticons. Windlight acts normal for an Autobot, but in reality she's afraid that if the Autobots look too closely, they'll see that she was not made an Autobot... but made a Decepticon with a Decepticon twin.
